Applies to tuBEAT (com.kurtsoft.tubeat) on Android · Effective 30 August 2026
tuBEAT is a player for media that is already on your device. It has no account, no sign-up and no advertising, and it sells nothing. This page describes exactly what the app reads, what leaves your phone, and what never does.
The short version. Your music and video files are read from your device and are never uploaded. Two things do leave the phone: the title and artist of a playing track, sent to look up lyrics and artwork, and crash reports and anonymous usage events, sent so the app can be fixed and improved. There is nothing else.
tuBEAT is published by Kurtsoft Yazılım ve Teknoloji A.Ş., Antalya, Türkiye. For anything in this policy, write to destek@kurtsoft.com.tr.
To do its job, tuBEAT needs to see the media you already have:
.m3u8 files in
your own storage, so they remain yours if you uninstall the app.Denying the media permission does not lock you out of the app; it simply means there is nothing for the library to show.
When a track plays, the app can look up synced lyrics and cover art for it. To do that it sends the track title, artist name and track length to third-party lyrics and music-metadata providers over the internet. It does not send the audio file, the file path, or anything that identifies you or your device. If a lookup fails, nothing is stored and the app simply shows no lyrics.
The app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and Google Analytics for Firebase to count anonymous in-app events (for example “playback started”, “settings opened”). These carry technical information such as device model, Android version, app version, coarse region and a random, resettable installation identifier. They do not carry your name, your email, your file names or your library contents.
Firebase Remote Config is used to change a few settings without shipping an update — for example turning a feature off if it misbehaves. Fetching that configuration sends the same installation identifier and app version described above.
If you cast, the app looks for Cast devices on your local network and streams the selected file to the device you pick. That traffic stays on your own network and does not pass through us.
This is the same list declared in the Google Play “Data safety” section.
