Common questions

The volume doesn't get louder on my device

Make sure your system volume is already near the top — Booster adds gain on top of it — and that the dial is above 100%. On a few devices the manufacturer restricts system-wide audio effects; when Booster detects this it tells you directly on the dial.

The sound crackles at high levels

Booster includes a limiter to prevent this, but very small speakers can still struggle with heavy bass at extreme levels. Lower the boost slightly, or reduce the Bass control in the equalizer.

Does the equalizer need the boost to be on?

No. The 10-band EQ, Bass, Surround and Reverb work on their own — at any volume, even with the booster switched off. Turn the EQ on and shape the sound; the boost is a separate control.

Why does Booster show a persistent notification?

Android requires a visible notification while an app keeps working in the background. That notification is exactly what lets the boost stay active while you listen in Spotify, YouTube or any other app — removing it would stop the boost. It disappears as soon as you stop Booster or swipe the app away from recents.

Why does the mini player ask for notification access?

Android exposes what's playing through a permission called "Notification access". Booster uses it only to detect the active media session so it can show the track and offer play/pause/skip. It is optional — everything else works without it — and notification content is never stored or sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.

Is listening at high volume safe?

High volume — especially with headphones and for long periods — can cause permanent hearing damage. Booster warns you at high boost levels; reduce the level immediately if you experience discomfort, ringing, or muffled hearing.

How do I delete my data?

Booster collects nothing, and your settings live only on your device. See the data deletion page — clearing the app's storage or uninstalling removes everything.
