Last updated: 19 July 2026 · Applies to the SoundLift Android app (com.kurtsoft.volumebooster)
SoundLift is developed by Kurtsoft Yazılım ve Teknoloji A.Ş. ("Kurtsoft", "we"). This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with data. We wrote it to be read, not to be survived.
The short version. SoundLift has no accounts and no sign-up. Audio is never recorded, stored or transmitted. Your equalizer settings, sound profile and listening history stay on your phone. We use a small set of standard services for crash reporting, anonymous usage statistics, subscriptions and advertising — none of them receive your name, your email or your audio.
When you turn on Adaptive AI, SoundLift asks for microphone permission. It is used for one purpose: to read the audio spectrum coming out of your device, so the app can tell whether you are playing music, dialog, a game or a movie and adjust the sound accordingly.
This analysis happens entirely on your device, moment by moment. No audio is recorded. No audio is saved to storage. No audio is sent to us or to any third party. The app only keeps the resulting decision (for example: "this is music"), and even that stays on your phone. If you never enable Adaptive AI, the microphone is never used, and you can revoke the permission at any time in Android Settings.
This information is stored in the app's private storage. It is not backed up to our servers, because we do not have servers holding your settings. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
SoundLift uses a small number of well-known service providers. The table below is the complete list, and it mirrors the Data safety section on our Google Play listing.
| Data | Why | Service |
|---|---|---|
| Device or other identifiers (including the advertising ID) | To show and measure ads, to keep anonymous usage statistics apart, and to prevent fraud | Google AdMob / AppLovin MAX, Firebase Analytics |
| App interactions (which screens are opened, which features are used) | To understand what people actually use so we can improve it | Firebase Analytics |
| Crash logs and diagnostics (stack traces, device model, Android version, performance data) | To find and fix crashes and slowdowns | Firebase Crashlytics |
| Purchase history (which subscription is active, its status) | To unlock the features you paid for and manage renewals | RevenueCat, Google Play Billing |
We never collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files or location. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play — we never see your card.
The free version of SoundLift may show full-screen ads between sessions. Ads are provided by Google AdMob and AppLovin MAX, which use your device's advertising ID.
SoundLift can show what you are currently playing, with play, pause, skip and seek controls. On Android this requires the "Notification access" permission, which the app asks for only when you tap to connect it.
SoundLift uses this permission for one thing: reading the active media session (track title, artist, cover art, playback position) through Android's media APIs. The contents of your notifications are never read, stored or transmitted. You can revoke this access at any time in Android Settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Safe Score and Sound Check exist to help you enjoy loud sound responsibly. They are estimates calculated on your device from the volume level, the listening time and the output you are using. They are not a hearing test, they do not diagnose anything, and they are not medical advice. Sound Check personalizes playback only.
SoundLift is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you would like the associated data removed, contact us and we will act on it.
Data stored on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Crash reports and anonymous usage statistics are retained by our service providers according to their standard retention periods (typically up to 14 months for analytics, 90 days for crash data). Subscription records are kept as long as required for billing and legal obligations.
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in Europe and the KVKK in Türkiye — you have the right to ask what data relates to you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Because SoundLift has no accounts, we usually cannot connect any data to you personally. If you want the identifiers described above removed, the fastest route is our data deletion page, which explains exactly what to send us. We answer within 30 days.
All data transmitted by the app is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Since we hold no personal profile and no account, there is no login for anyone to breach.
If we change what the app collects, we update this page and the Data safety section on Google Play before the change ships, and we update the date at the top.
